Mac Jones

PERSONAL:

• Comes from an athletic family as his father, Gordon Jones, played tennis at Florida State University before transferring to Flagler College. In May of 1977, Gordon was on the cover of Sports Illustrated as the magazine's "Athlete of the Week." He won the 1977 NAIA Singles Championship and 1977 Double Championship as well as an NAIA National Championship. He was later inducted into the Flager Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004. His mother, Holly, also played tennis at Mercer University, while his sister, Sarah Jane, played tennis at the College of Charleston from 2014-18 and his brother, Will, played soccer at Mercer University.
•  Community service is a point of emphasis in the Jones family, as Mac volunteered at charitable events as early as five years old. With Super Bowl XXXIX played in his hometown of Jacksonville, Jones and his mother volunteered for the NFL Wives Fashion Show benefiting a school for children with disabilities. 
•  During the lead-up to the Draft, Jones volunteered at the College of Human Environmental Studies at The University of Alabama's RISE Center, where infants and children both with and without special needs receive an immersive education. • Has two siblings: Sarah and Will.
• Jones has spent his time serving different communities during his time in the NFL. He enjoys spending his time with children in the community. He has participated in different special education events, mental health awareness and local YMCA programs. Jones has enjoyed his past involvement with events like Night to Shine and different local fashion shows for those who have special needs. These opportunities have allowed Jones to connect with different communities and help highlight his passions for helping those off the field.
•  Jones spends his offseason in Jacksonville where he enjoys golfing and fishing. His sister, Sarah lives in Bermuda with her husband. While visiting his sister, he has participated in deep sea fishing and has loved his time doing so.
• After his time in the NFL, Jones plans to use his communication and sports business degree to potentially branch into the world of broadcast.

COLLEGE:

• Appeared in 39 games (17 starts) in four years at Alabama (2017-20) and completed 413 of 556 atts. for 6,126 yds. and 56 TDs through the air to go along with 54 rushing atts. for 42 yds. and 2 TDs on the ground. As a junior in 2020, finished the season as Alabama's all-time single-season passing yardage leader, completing 311 of 402 atts. (77.4 pct.) for 4,500 yds., 41 TDs and a passer rating of 201.1, earning Associated Press All-America and First-Team SEC honors. Also set the FBS single-season record for completion percentage (77.4) and owns four of Alabama's 10 career 400- plus yds. passing performances in program history. As a sophomore in 2019, appeared in 12 games (4 starts) and completed 97 of 141 atts. for 1,503 yds. and 14 TDs. In 2018, saw action in 14 games and completed 5 of 13 passes for 123 yds. and 1 TD. Redshirted in 2017.

NFL:

• Mac Jones (6-3, 200) was originally drafted by the New England Patriots with the 15^th overall selection of the 2021 NFL Draft. Throughout his four-year career with the Patriots (2021-23) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2024), he has appeared in 52 games (49 starts) and completed 1,035 of his 1,570 passing attempts (65.9 percent) for 10,590 yards, 54 touchdowns and a passer rating of 84.9 to go along with 145 rushes for 419 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He has also appeared in one postseason contest where he completed 24 of his 38 passing attempts (63.2 percent) for 232 yards and two touchdowns. In 2024, Jones appeared in 10 games (seven starts) with the Jaguars and completed 171 of his 262 passing attempts (65.3 percent) for 1,672 yards and eight touchdowns with a passer rating of 80.5. In his rookie season, Jones was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team and earned the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.

(70.4%) for 2,369 yds. and 20 TDs with a passer rating of 121.1. • Purdy's 121.1 passer rating through his first 10 career starts marked the highest passer rating by a QB in their first 10 career starts in NFL history. • His 70.4% completion percentage through his first 10 career starts marked the 2ndhighest completion percentage by a QB in their first 10 career starts in NFL history. • In Week 4 of 2023 vs. Arz. (10/1/23), Purdy completed 20 of his 21 passing atts. (95.2%) for 283 yds. and 1 TD with a passer rating of 134.6. His 95.2% completion percentage marked the highest single-game completion percentage in franchise history and the fourth-highest single-game completion percentage in NFL history (min. 20 atts.).
