Jeff Gilbert is in his 12th year with the 49ers and first as an equipment manager. He previously spent 10 years as an assistant equipment manager with the team.
In his first stint with San Francisco, Gilbert served as the assistant equipment manager for the team from 2005-08. He later joined Riddell as a Northern California sales representative in 2008 where he remained until 2012. Gilbert made his way back to the NFL that year as an assistant equipment manager for the Oakland Raiders and remained with the team until he returned to San Francisco in 2014. In addition to maintaining the team's helmets and shoulder pads, Gilbert works with the defense at practice and assists with logistics.
In 2015, Gilbert served as a member of the host team assigned to the both the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos prior to Super Bowl 50, and assisted the Broncos on game day. He also assisted with events at the NFL Experience.
Gilbert started his career with the Seattle Seahawks as a season-long intern during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
Gilbert was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA, where he attended San Lorenzo Valley High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Bethany Bible College and later earned his master's degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco. He has been a member of the Athletic Equipment Manager's Association since 2006 and is a charter member of the Professional Football Equipment Managers Society (PFEMS).
Gilbert and his wife, Theresa, live in Felton, CA, with their daughter, Kiana, and son, Indy
