It's also another indicator that they are bought in on Cassius Marsh, Jeremiah Attaochu and Eli Harold off the edge in 2018.

#NCState has set a school record with 7 players picked in the draft. Six of those guys are from their 2014 recruiting class which was ranked No. 34 at the time. Only one signee in that class (Kentravius Street) was ranked above a 3-star. Great testament to eval AND development.

The 49ers add secondary help in D.J. Reed. He didn’t allow a reception longer than 30 yards in 2017, and surrendered a passer rating of 55.5 when targeted

At 5-foot-9, D.J. Reed is shorter than the usual profile of a corner in the #49ers system (5-foot-9), but he still has plenty of length with almost 32-inch arms.

Correction: Reed did allow one catch per 12.3 coverage snaps, but that was not highest in draft class (my apologies!) Allowed just a 55.5 passer rating last season. Played mostly at RCB last year, but would project to slot CB.

The 49ers pick 6-1 Florida safety Marcell Harris in the sixth round. He missed 2017 with a torn right Achilles tendon.

Harris racked up tackle numbers as a Gator, so likely projects as a strong safety for the 49ers’ Cover 3 in the future.

Harris was a 4-star coming out of high school. 6-1, 216 pound safety. Sounds like he was a big-time player for Florida. Similar strategy to the Kentavius Street selection.
