Joe Staley Will Return on Sunday against Giants

The San Francisco 49ers offense will get a much-needed lift on Sunday as Joe Staley will be back in the lineup. The team's starting left tackle missed last week's game with an orbital fracture and wasn't expected back until after San Francisco's bye.

Staley suffered the injury in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he wasn't even listed on the team's final injury report. He will provide a huge boost to the 49ers offensive line. Staley's return also means that Trent Brown will move back to right tackle against the New York Giants.

The 49ers allowed five sacks and 16 quarterback hits agaisnt the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday. This bit of good news should help remedy some of the team's woes in pass protection.

Solomon Thomas is the other person of interest on San Francisco's injury report. Thomas is listed as questionable with a knee injury. Like Staley, the first-round pick was also injured against the Eagles and missed last week's game against the Cardinals. K'Waun Williams is the only other 49ers player listed as questionable. The nickel corner has been out since Week 7 with a quadricep injury.

George Kittle (ankle), Elijah Lee (knee), Aaron Lynch (calf) and Trent Taylor (ribs) are all out against the Giants.
