Former San Francisco 49ers assistant coach Bobb McKittrick has been selected to receive an Award of Excellence from the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class in the Assistant Coaches category.

McKittrick, who served as the 49ers offensive line coach for 21 years, helped the team win five Super Bowls (XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV and XXIX) and 13 NFC West division titles. He is one of four coaches who was part of all five of the franchise's Super Bowl-winning teams.

Established under Hall of Fame head coach Bill Walsh, the annual Bobb McKittrick Award is presented to the 49ers offensive lineman who best exemplifies the dedication, excellence and commitment of the distinguished coach.

"[McKittrick] was a vital factor in five Super Bowl championships, the evolution of a dynasty and in the production of some of the finest offensive linemen in football," Walsh said.

McKittrick will be honored alongside Ted Cottrell and Mike Westhoff as part of the fifth class of Awards of Excellence assistant coach honorees. The recognition ceremony will take place June 24-25 in Canton, Ohio.
