49ers Sign WR Kyle Williams

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Thursday that they have signed sixth-round draft choice WR Kyle Williams to a four-year contract.

Williams (5-10, 186) played in 41 games (15 starts) at Arizona State, totaling 109 receptions for 1,626 yards and 18 touchdowns, 74 punt returns for 768 yards and 31 kickoff returns for 709 yards for his career.

In 2009, Williams played in 11 games (9 starts) and led the team with 57 catches for 815 yards and eight touchdowns, while returning 23 punts for 229 yards. As a junior, he played in 11 games, ranking fourth on the team with 364 receiving yards on 19 catches. Williams earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors as a returner with a conference-high 17.0 yards per punt return, while serving as the team's primary kickoff return man with 27 returns for 630 yards.

The 21-year-old Williams is a native of San Jose, CA. He becomes the second of the 49ers eight 2010 draft picks to sign with the team.
