49ers Sign G de la Puente to Future Contract

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Friday that they have signed G Brian de la Puente to a future contract.

De la Puente (6-2, 308) rejoins the 49ers after spending time on the practice squads of the Seattle Seahawks (Games 2 and 4-8) and Carolina Panthers (Games 10-16), in 2009. Originally signed by San Francisco as an undrafted rookie free agent out of the University of California-Berkeley in 2008, he was released prior to the regular season and later signed to Kansas City's active roster. De la Puente was inactive for the first seven games of that season before being released and signed to the Chiefs practice squad for the remainder of the year.

The 24-year old, native of Los Angeles, CA, was named honorable mention All-PAC 10 as a senior, in 2007.
