49ers Kids Club Take Part in Back to Football Block Party

To celebrate the start of the 2016 season, Gold members of the 49ers Kids Club were invited to Levi’s® Stadium for first ever Back to Football Block Party.

San Francisco 49ers football is back. To celebrate the start of the 2016 season, Gold members of the 49ers Kids Club were invited to Levi's® Stadium for first ever Back to Football Block Party. Members and their families took to Dignity Health Plaza for a fun-filled afternoon of activities.

49ers Kids Club members were the first fans to return to the home of the Faithful and the 49ers Youth Football staff welcomed them to the Youth Football Mini Camp field.  At 49ers home games, all kids ages seven to 14 are welcome to join in on various football drills, including running back and quarterback drills found within Dignity Health Gate C; a must-stop destination on game days for all youth in attendance.

Across the plaza, an obstacle course towered over kids lined up to crawl, climb, ascend and slide through the inflatable display. The obstacle course took a competitive edge when staff announced to kids that they could race each other.

Additional activities were available for kids needing a break from the thrills of the afternoon. A face painting station displayed red and gold 49ers-themed face paint and airbrush tattoos.  An arts and crafts station was also set up for the youngest Faithful.

Unique to Training Camp 2016, everyone in attendance was invited to write a letter to their favorite 49ers players wishing them good luck this season, as part of the NFL's Pep Talks initiative. The letters were collected and will be given to 49ers players throughout the preseason.

All members in attendance were entered into a raffle to be the 49ers Kickoff Kid. The raffle winner and one lucky chaperone will be on the sideline when the 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football at Levi's® Stadium this September.

Of course no 49ers party would be complete without an appearance by mascot and team favorite, Sourdough Sam. The 49ers mascot played catch with kids, posed for pictures and danced with fans of all ages.
