Tariq Ahmad is in his fourth season as an area scout after spending the 2014 season as an assistant in the 49ers scouting department. Ahmad assists with the evaluations of both college and professional players.
Ahmad joined the team following four seasons as director of football recruiting operations at Rutgers University and seven seasons overall as a member of the Scarlet Knights program. During his time at Rutgers, Ahmad received his master’s degree in education administration.

Ahmad previously served as an offensive graduate assistant coach at Ithaca College, working with the running backs on game strategies and techniques. Prior to becoming a coach, Ahmad was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball and outdoor track at his alma mater. A native of Holmdel, NJ, he graduated from Ithaca College in 2005, majoring in health and physical education.
