Jihad F. Beauchman is in his 13th season with the San Francisco 49ers and his first as Chief Legal Officer. In this role, he oversees the team's legal affairs, risk management, corporate communications, and public affairs departments, while providing strategic leadership and counsel across the organization and its affiliates, including the management and operation of Levi's® Stadium.
Beauchman first joined the 49ers in 2014 as counsel for the 49ers and the management company for Levi's® Stadium. In 2019, he was promoted to Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and in 2022 was elevated to Executive Vice President, General Counsel. That same year, he was named to Silicon Valley Business Journal's 40 Under 40. Under his leadership, the 49ers have negotiated major stadium, commercial, and event agreements, including high-profile contracts connected to Levi's® Stadium operations and community negotiations related to FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl events at the venue.
Prior to joining the 49ers, Beauchman practiced law for the international law firm Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., from 2009-2014. While there, he represented clients in the sports and technology sectors, working on complex business transactions and high-stakes litigation matters.
Beauchman earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2009, where he served as a legal intern for the 2008 NBA Champion Boston Celtics. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University in 2006, where he was an All-American high jumper on the Men's Track and Field team. He currently holds the Yale school records for outdoor high jump and indoor triple jump.
In 2023, Beauchman was awarded the Harvard Law School Paul C. Weiler Distinguished Alum Award, recognizing his contributions to the field of law and leadership in the sports industry.
Beauchman was born in San Francisco, CA, raised in San Jose, CA, and attended Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, CA for high school.
Beauchman and his corgi, Ronnie, reside in San Jose.
