Elliott Williams is in his sixth season with the 49ers as the director of functional performance. In his role, Williams is focused on each player in an individualized way, creating corrective, alignment based exercise routines to restore a symmetrical and more efficient athlete.
Posture, how it results in injury, pain & performance is the focus. Creating a more aligned athlete results in efficient & balanced movement in the gym as well as on the field.
Prior to joining the 49ers, Williams spent seven educational & experiential years (2011-17), mentoring with Pete Egoscue in San Diego, CA at The Egoscue Method Headquarters. His role allowed him the ability to work with many of the NFL's elite, especially as their injuries creeped up on them, later in their careers.
Williams & his staff work side by side with the strength & conditioning staff, as well as the athletic training staff, collaborating on valuable performance information gathered by this triangle of health. Focusing on posture and joint alignment is the priority when evaluating a player, allowing him to take a "global-view" to re-establishing balance and function.
Williams is also certified by the Egoscue University and has earned PAS, AET & ETI certifications.
