Ellie Caple is in her fifth season with the 49ers and third as vice president, corporate communications & public affairs. Her corporate communications team builds and protects the 49ers and Levi's® Stadium brands via global media relations and crisis response strategies. Caple's team has maximized media attention to successfully drive revenue, attract partnerships, and enhance brand affinity by amplifying the organization's work across verticals, including the 49ers Foundation, corporate partnerships, fan engagement, stadium events and operations, leadership of Leeds United and Rangers Football Clubs, and more. Her team further supports 49ers executives by providing media training opportunities, and securing award recognition and industry speaking opportunities.

Caple also leads the organization's government affairs strategy, fostering collaborative relationships with elected officials at every level, and tracking and guiding legislation in Sacramento and Washington, DC.

Throughout her 49ers tenure, Caple has led numerous successful communications campaigns totaling billions of impressions worldwide. Highlights include building the communications plan around hostingSuper Bowl LX in 2026, the launch of a 10-year economic impact report detailing the impact of the stadium on the regional economy, the 49ers Foundation's first-ever expansion into Oakland, the extension of the naming rights partnership with Levi Strauss, and 49ers Enterprises' assumption of full ownership of Leeds United and majority ownership of Rangers Football Club.

Prior to joining the 49ers, Caple spent a decade working in politics and on political campaigns, including five years with Kamala Harris during her U.S. Senate tenure and presidential campaign, and later running Alex Padilla's U.S. Senate race for which she designed a political and media strategy that cleared the field of opposition. Caple previously worked for Bearstar Strategies, a powerhouse campaign firm advising candidates up and down the ballot, and as a Crisis & Strategy Director for Sunshine Sachs, a well-known entertainment PR firm.

Caple previously served on the board of the Los Angeles Young Democrats, where she helped found the organization's first Women's Caucus.

Originally from the Boston area, Caple holds a B.A. in Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University in Massachusetts. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband.
