Alison Lu is in her ninth season with the 49ers and currently serves as Vice President, Business
Strategy & Analytics (BSA). In her role, she oversees the 49ers robust BSA department, which
provides data to inform organizational decisions and guides overall business strategy. The BSA
team collaborates with internal departments and external partners at the 49ers to help drive
revenue, operational efficiency, fan satisfaction and fan engagement.
During Lu's tenure with the team, she has played a key role in several groundbreaking
initiatives. Lu helped launch the Member Inclusive Menu (MIM) – the first program to include
concessions as part of all season ticket memberships. Her team worked alongside 49ers food &
beverage partner, Levy, to design menus, launch fan communications, and operationalize new
staff and technology. Now in its fifth season, MIM has continuously improved fan satisfaction
and throughput, and has been recognized as the "Best New Concept in Concessions" by
VenuesNow.
In 2018, Lu's team launched the Executive Huddle presented by SAP – the first real-time
analytics control room on NFL gamedays – which helps Levi's Stadium operations staff identify
and respond to gameday fan experience issues in real time. This innovative technology has
received numerous awards including the "Leader in Innovation" by Leaders In Sports and "Best
Venue Technology" by TheStadiumBusiness. Sports Business Journal also recognized the
Executive Huddle as a finalist for "Best in Sports Technology."
Other major projects Lu's team manages include 49ers affiliated businesses like 49ers Cal-Hi
Sports and the Horizon Summit. She has also spearheaded a new corporate partnerships
analytics process to drive value amongst the 49ers organization, fans, and partners.
Lu was an integral member of the team that submitted successful bids to bring Super Bowl LX
and the FIFA World Cup to Levi's Stadium in 2026, making Levi's Stadium the only venue to
host both mega-events in a single calendar year.
For three years during her 49ers tenure, Lu also helped build the Insights vertical at Elevate
Sports Ventures, a leading sports and entertainment consulting agency. At Elevate, she helped
drive revenue in a new MLS stadium, launch marketing & sales efforts for an emerging sports
league, and diversify revenues for a publicly owned stadium. Before joining the 49ers, she
worked at PA Consulting in New York City focusing on clients in the energy and utilities sector.
Lu serves as executive sponsor for APEX, the 49ers employee resource group that strives to
unite employees of Asian, Pacific Islander and Asian Pacific heritage.
A San Francisco native, Lu earned a BS in Environmental Engineering from Yale University and
an MBA from Harvard Business School. If she's not at Levi's Stadium, Lu is probably skiing or
visiting her favorite bakery or donut shop.
