Biography
Sapolu enters his first season with the 49ers as the team's assistant offensive line coach. He joins the 49ers after spending the previous two seasons (2024-25) as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins.
Prior to his time with the Dolphins, Sapolu spent nine seasons (2015-23) coaching in the collegiate ranks. He served as an offensive line coach at the University of Hawai'i (2022), Fresno State University (2019-21) and Idaho State University (2018). He also served as co-offensive coordinator at Hawai'i (2023) and run game coordinator at Fresno State (2020-21). He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska (2015-17), working primarily with the offensive line. Sapolu was also a member of the 49ers 2018 Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, where he spent training camp working with the offensive line.
