Jake Lynch is entering his first season with the 49ers as a defensive quality control coach. He joined the 49ers after spending the 2024 season as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Washington.
In 2024, Lynch worked under Washington head coach, Jedd Fisch, and defensive coordinator, Steve Belichick. The Huskies defense ranked second in the nation in average passing yards allowed (377.0), and 28th in total yards allowed (4,269).
A native of Del Mar, CA, Lynch played linebacker at Stanford University for five seasons (2018-22) where he appeared in 16 games and registered three tackles. A three- time Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll (2019-21) student, Lynch was named the Cardinal's 2019 Greg Piers Award recipient, which is given to the most outstanding offensive, defensive, and special teams scout team players of the year.
Lynch earned a bachelor's degree in science, technology and society along with his master's degree in communication and media studies from Stanford. He is the son of current 49ers President of Football Operations/General Manager and Pro Football Hall of Famer, John Lynch.
