Super Bowl LX brought the world to Levi's® Stadium on Sunday night, and during the halftime show, global superstar Bad Bunny shared a personal connection tied to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Puerto Rican artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, took the stage in an all-white custom look featuring a football jersey with the name Ocasio and the number 64. Following the performance, Bad Bunny revealed the meaning behind the jersey: it honored his late uncle, Tío Cutito, who was born in 1964.

Bad Bunny shared that his uncle introduced him to the NFL and was a devoted 49ers fan. Many of their memories together centered around watching playoff games during the height of the NFL postseason. Fittingly, Super Bowl LX was played at the home of the team his uncle loved most.
"Everything that I know about the NFL is thanks to him," Martínez Ocasio told Harper’s Bazaar. "When he was 17, he left to work in the United States and he never returned to Puerto Rico—though he always came to visit and stayed with us at the end of January or beginning of February. That was peak NFL postseason so I always watched the games with him.
"He was a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers... He died two years ago, a short time after the 49ers lost against Kansas City in the 2024 Super Bowl. I always dreamed of taking my uncle to a Super Bowl one year, but I couldn't; his death was sudden and without warning. So I decided to bring him on my shirt when I performed at the Super Bowl: Ocasio, his last name, the same as my mom, along with his birth year, '64. I dedicated my show before I began; I am sure he saw it, he was present, and he felt proud of his nephew. Now all we need is for the 49ers to one day win the Super Bowl again."
The tribute added an emotional layer to a halftime show that celebrated culture, traditions, and included a setlist featuring some of his most popular songs.
