49ers Sign CB Perrish Cox for Stretch Run

The 49ers have signed cornerback Perrish Cox to a one-year deal.

Cox was originally drafted in the fifth round (137th overall) by the Denver Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played in 15 games during his rookie season, and registered 55 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and 14 passes defensed. After being released by the Broncos in 2011, the 49ers signed Cox to a two-year contract on March 13, 2012. During the last two seasons with San Francisco, Cox appeared in 25 games and registered 18 tackles and two passes defensed, while adding seven special teams tackles

Released by the 49ers earlier this season on Nov. 12, Cox was later signed by Seattle where he appeared in two games for the Seahawks and tallied three tackles before being released on Dec. 27.

A native of Waco, TX, Cox played collegiately at Oklahoma State.
