SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The 49ers Foundation, the largest team foundation in the NFL, today announced the date and ticket availability for its eighth-annual "Players for a Purpose" fundraiser presented by SAP. Hosted on the field inside Levi's® Stadium, the event will take place on August 27 and aim to break last year's fundraising record of more than $1 million.
Tickets are available at 49ers.com/kickoff, with all proceeds benefitting the Foundation and its mission to educate and empower Bay Area youth and beyond.
"Now in its eighth iteration, Players for a Purpose has grown to be one of the most anticipated events on the 49ers calendar," said Jenna York, 49ers Co-Owner, Chief Impact Officer. "We look forward to kicking off the new NFL season with an evening of giving alongside our fans, friends, and community partners."
"Last year, Players for a Purpose raised over $1 million, a new fundraising record for the event's then seven-year history," said Mara York, 49ers Co-Owner, Chief Impact Officer. "Reaching that milestone is only possible with the support of the Faithful. This year, we hope to raise the bar even higher to continue powering our community impact efforts across the Bay Area and the world."
In December 2024, the 49ers Foundation announced 826 Valencia as its first-ever legacy beneficiary to be based in San Francisco. As a result, the Foundation's beneficiary network grew to encompass the South Bay, East Bay, and San Francisco. To celebrate the many communities in which the Foundation has a presence, this year's Players for Purpose theme is a "block party," highlighting different programs and cities across the Bay Area and the 49ers global markets. In addition to its many legacy beneficiaries, the Foundation's direct-service programs (49ers EDU and 49ers PREP) will take part in the festivities with interactive booths.
The "block party" reception with light food and drinks will begin at 4:30 pm, followed by the main program and a seated dinner at 6pm. Guests will be joined by the entire 49ers roster, coaches, alumni, and front office executives for speeches, entertainment, and more. A live auction will conclude the evening, giving attendees the opportunity to bid for and win unique 49ers memorabilia and experiences.
"After kicking off the season with a record-setting Players for a Purpose event in 2024, the Foundation went on to welcome a new legacy beneficiary and pass $70 million reinvested into Bay Area communities and beyond," said Justin Prettyman, Vice President, Philanthropy and 49ers Foundation Executive Director. "We are fortunate to have an ownership family that truly values the Bay Area and the power of giving back. With their support, along with our fans and philanthropic partners, we can't wait for another year of benefiting the next generation."
"Players for a Purpose has grown into a cherished tradition within the history of the 49ers organization," said David Martinez, Senior Director of SAP Marketing. "SAP is honored to collaborate with the 49ers Foundation to raise awareness and drive support for initiatives that make a meaningful difference for Bay Area youth and communities beyond."
