Antoine Bethea to Host Celebrity Softball Game in San Jose

Throughout his decade-long NFL career, Antoine Bethea has been known to lay the lumber on his opponents. Just ask Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant.

Next month, Bethea will look to deliver hits of a different kind. The Niners safety is partnering with Clear Vision to host the first annual Antoine Bethea and Friends Celebrity Softball game on June 11.

The event will take place in the South Bay at San Jose Municipal Stadium, home of the San Francisco Giants Class A Advanced affiliate.

Gates open to the public at 1:00 p.m. with a meet-and-green on the field lasting until 1:30 p.m.

A half hour later, partcipants will swing for the fences in a home run derby competition. First pitch for the game itself is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

Many of Bethea's Niners teammates will fill the rosters. Attendees include Pierre Garçon, Ahmad Brooks, Bruce Miller, Michael Vick, Maurice Jones-Drew and Robert Mathis  – to name a few.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online here or call (406) 297-1435. All proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of San Jose, Santa Clara and San Mateo.

Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to play on one of the teams yourself? (See tweets below)
