On Wednesday, the San Francisco 49ers, in collaboration with PepsiCo, launched the Bay Area Bites program at Delancey Street Restaurant in San Francisco with a free lunch event open to all. Attendees were joined by 49ers legend Patrick Willis, the Gold Rush cheerleaders, and mascot Sourdough Sam for an afternoon of free food and community.
Designed to celebrate and support the local restaurants that make the Bay Area special, PepsiCo's Bay Area Bites program spotlights places where food meets a powerful purpose. The 49ers joined the initiative, alongside Willis.
"What I love about Delancey Street and what they're doing is that they are more than just a restaurant," said Willis. "They are giving people second chances. To be a part of Pepsi and the 49ers Bay Area Bites program is really special."

Delancey Street Restaurant, a notable San Francisco landmark, helps adults rebuild their lives through food and service, and gives staff the opportunity to gain real-world skills through hands-on experience. Dishes at Delancey Street are inspired by family recipes from the residents, and every meal served helps fund life-changing programs through the Delancey Street Foundation.

On Wednesday, restaurant guests and fans were treated to Delancey Street Restaurant staples, including buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches, bacon hamburgers, and fresh salads. PepsiCo also provided free Pepsi drinks to all.
Prior to the event, Bay Area Bites kicked off with the release of a special video to spotlight Delancey Street Restaurant and its unique story. The video is available to watch here.

The initiative is part of PepsiCo's Local Eats Deserve Pepsi platform, which aims to shine a light on and provide resources to the local gems in our neighborhoods across the country so that they can continue to grow their business.
