What, in your life, are you most proud of?
I am most proud of getting my teaching credential and making it through graduate school. It was a time where I have never worked harder and overcome as many challenges in such a short amount of time. I truly pushed myself beyond my limits and felt incredibly accomplished at graduation and feel proud to be a teacher!
What is your favorite non-profit organization and why?
My favorite charity is The National Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an organization that provides advocates for abused and neglected children. The goal is that vulnerable children can feel safe, supported, and have the opportunity for a better future. As a teacher and having experience working with underserved children, I firmly believe that every child deserves to feel safe and loved and this organization is near and dear to my heart.
Who or what inspires you?
My students inspire me! Working with children is so rewarding and seeing their positive outlook despite challenges is what inspires me. I love how my students come into my class every day with a big smile on their face and are ready to learn despite the challenging home lives they come from or learning differences they experience. Children have such a unique perspective on life and keep me grounded and humbled.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I have an identical twin sister! Although we look very similar, we have very different interests. She is an accountant living in Los Angeles and I'm a first grade teacher and dancer living in San Francisco.
What does it mean to be a Gold Rush Cheerleader?
Being a Gold Rush Cheerleader means that you're a teammate, you're a friend, you're faithful, and a fan! You are committed to putting in the effort to be a helpful and positive teammate every day because you care about the greater good of the team. You are willing to make sacrifices and also willing to put the team first because there is nothing that compares to the feeling of nailing a tricky routine! Being on Gold Rush also means that you represent all of the women who have come before you to build the legacy. You uphold the tradition of Gold Rush and honor those who were wearing the boots before you!
What impact do cheerleaders have during a game and/or in the community?
Cheerleaders have such an important job. We bring the joy to game day and are committed to pumping up the 49ers Faithful to keep our community united. On game day we get to make valuable connections with fans and inspire youth in our community. I'm most looking forward to Jr Gold Rush to directly work with children who are eager to dance out on the field! I hope to empower youth in our community to go for their dreams and follow their passions.
Who is YOUR biggest cheerleader?
My mom (she did a happy dance when I told her)! My mom has been there for me every step of the way! She has sacrificed her time to go to countless dance performances and is the reason why I'm here today!
