San Francisco 49ers Players Volunteer at Convoy of Hope Community Event

A year ago, Garrett Celek and a few of his teammates partnered with a humanitarian organization called Convoy of Hope to organize a three-day trip to Haiti.

While in country, the players worked on the front lines of the recovery effort and spent time with local children affected by the tragic 2010 earthquake.

Inspired by the non-profit's mission to feed the underprivileged, provide various family services and respond to disasters around the world, McDonald maintained a relationship with Convoy of Hope and offered to help however possible.

This past weekend, McDonald did just that – recruiting several Niners to join him in volunteering at a community event in the East Bay.

Groceries, shoes, haircuts, health screenings and job services were offered to those guests who attended. Among the players who joined McDonald were Eric Reid, Jarryd Hayne, Busta Anderson, Jerome Simpson and DiAndre Campbell.
