The return of football season also means the return of Madden season. EA Sports is almost ready to roll out Madden 18 in conjuction with the start of a fresh NFL campaign.
To build the hype around Madden's Aug. 25 release date, EA Sports is beginning to share player ratings in the new game. On Tuesday, rookie ratings for first-rounders were made public via ESPN. The San Francisco 49ers made a pair of first-round picks in selecting Solomon Thomas third overall and Reuben Foster 31st overall.
Both stacked up favorably compared to their counterparts.Thomas' overall rating: 79
ESPN's stat to know: "Thomas had 27 quarterback hurries and 14 tackles for loss at Stanford last season, both of which ranked third in the Pac-12."Foster's overall rating: 76
ESPN's stat to know: "The Alabama linebacker had five games with 10-plus tackles last season, and all five were against ranked opponents."
The highest rated rookie was first-overall pick Myles Garrett at 83 overall. Former Alabama tight end O.J. Howard was next at 82 overall.
