Chip Kelly's recently-announced coaching staff offers a well-rounded group of football minds with a vast knowledge to share with the San Francisco 49ers.
After digging through each coach's biography, here's a look at some of the connections and numbers that stood out from the current 17-man coaching staff.
2 – The number of coaches who have played in the NFL (RB coach Tom Rathman, ILB coach Hardy Nickerson.
4 – The number of coaches on the staff who have worked with Kelly in the past: QB coach Ryan Day (Eagles), WR Coach Bob Bicknell (Eagles), DL coach Jerry Azzinaro (Ducks, Eagles), special teams assistant Michael Clay (Ducks, Eagles).
4 – The number of BCS game appearances made by Kelly with Azzinaro on his Oregon staff from 2009-12 (Rose Bowl, BCS Championship, Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl).

Hardy, a fifth-round pick who was a five-time Pro Bowl selection, also recorded 21 sacks and 12 interceptions in 16 seasons.
2001 – The year when Day played for Kelly when the head coach was still an offensive coordinator at New Hampshire. As a starting quarterback, Day set four UNH passing records, including best completion percentage and touchdown passes in a career.
2012 – The last year of Modkins' three-year tenure as offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills. The AFC club ranked fourth in rushing average (5.0) and sixth in rushing yards (2,217) in the entire league.
2012 – The year when Clay was a second-team linebacker for Kelly's Oregon team which beat Kansas State, 35-17, in the Fiesta Bowl.
