NFL Network Analyst Charles Davis Offers Options for 49ers No. 7 Pick

Happy draft day everyone.

The 2016 NFL Draft begins at 5:00 p.m. PT Thursday night from the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. A trio of NFL Network analysts were kind enough to help us preview all three days of the draft.

Let's start with Charles Davis, who offered three options for who the San Francisco 49ers could select with the No. 7 overall pick. Two of the prospects are on the defensive side of the football, and the third would help bolster the team's offensive line.

Here are the players Davis sees as great fits in San Francisco. Be sure to follow Davis on Twitter @CFD22.Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

"Obviously you're set with Joe Staley on the left side. Stanley can handle the right side, and the 49ers can continue to be that power-type team. Chip Kelly is going to want to be able to spring these backs. Pierre Garçon is going to want to get going. And whoever is playing quarterback has to be protected in today's NFL. Stanley is clearly the No. 2 offensive tackle in this year's draft. Some people even have him as the No. 1 tackle. Ronnie Stanley is a heck of a player."DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

"The easy pick for me is DeForest Buckner if he's there. You get to pair him with Arik Armstead, and they can become the bookends like they were at Oregon. They're used to playing in a three-man front. Buckner has shown a little better pass-rush ability so far in their young careers. You're talking about some large men. They both have great ability to bend and play with better leverage than you would think of for guys who are 6-foot-7. Buckner gets a lot of attention for the size of his hands, but he uses those hands to disengage from blocks and power his way back to quarterbacks on pass-rushes."

Note: Buckner is who Davis has the 49ers picking in his final mock draft.Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

"What if Myles Jack is sitting there at No. 7? That's not out of the realm of possibilities. And you look to have him be the running mate next to NaVorro Bowman. Remember when he was the running mate next to Patrick Willis? Now Bowman is the guy looking for the running mate. If you put Myles Jack next to him – the 49ers have a proud tradition, especially in recent years of having that position filled well with two guys who can search and destroy."
