49ers Trade CB Rashard Robinson to Jets, Announce Other Roster Moves

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have traded CB Rashard Robinson to the New York Jets in exchange for an undisclosed 2018 draft choice. Robinson must pass a physical for the trade to be executed. The team has also released QB Pierre Garçon and released CB Will Redmond from the Injured Reserve List.

Robinson (6-1, 177) was originally drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round (133rd overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. Over the past two seasons with San Francisco (2016-17), he appeared in 22 games (13 starts) and registered 61 tackles, 15 passes defensed, two interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. This season, he appeared in each of the team's first eight games (seven starts) and tallied 27 tackles, seven passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Hoyer (6-2, 215) signed with San Francisco on March 10, 2017. This season, he started the first six games of the season and completed 119 of 205 attempts for 1,245 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions, while also adding one rushing touchdown. A nine-year veteran, he has appeared in 55 career regular season games (37 starts) and completed 833 of 1,404 attempts (59.3 percent) for 9,853 yards, 48 touchdowns and a passer rating of 83.3.

Redmond (6-0, 186) was originally drafted by the 49ers in the third round (68th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was placed on the Injured Reserve List on September 3, 2017.
