The 49ers have tendered one-year contracts to restricted free agent TE/DT
Dobbs (6-2, 282) originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He has registered 47 tackles in 39 games played. Last season, Dobbs set a career-high with 37 tackles in 15 regular season games, and also appeared in all three postseason contests.
Dobbs, a 26-year-old native of Savannah, GA, played collegiately at Georgia where he recorded 78 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two interceptions and six passes defensed in 52 career games (27 starts).
Wilhoite (6-0, 240) has notched 24 tackles on defense while adding 24 special teams tackles, in 21 games played (two starts). He began his professional career with the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL, in 2011, before being signed to the 49ers practice squad later that year. In 2012, Wilhoite spent 12 weeks on the 49ers practice squad before being promoted to the active roster for the final five games of the regular season. In 2013, he appeared in all 16 games (two starts) and tallied a career-high 24 tackles.
A 27-year-old native of Topeka, KS, Wilhoite played at Washburn University where he registered 211 tackles and three interceptions for the Ichabods, in 44 games (35 starts).
