49ers Sign OL Andrew Lauderdale, Waive S Malik Golden

The San Francisco 49ers announced a roster move on Friday, swapping roster spots with a pair of rookies.

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Friday that they have signed offensive lineman Andrew Lauderdale to a two-year deal. In order to make room on the roster, the team has waived safety Malik Golden.

Lauderdale (6-6, 291) was originally signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 1, 2017, and was later released on May 15.

A 23-year-old native of Concord, NH, Lauderdale attended the University of New Hampshire where he appeared in 42 games (22 starts) along the offensive line. As a senior in 2016, he started 13 games at left tackle, where he earned Third-Team All-CAA honors.

Golden (6-0, 205) originally signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent from Penn State University on May 4.
