49ers Sign 6 Draft Picks, 18 Undrafted Free Agents

San Francisco announced several roster moves on Thursday surrounding a growing 2017 rookie class.



The San Francisco 49ers today announced the signing of six of the team’s 10 draft picks and 18 undrafted rookie free agents.

Was selected by the 49ers in the seventh round (229th overall) of this year’s draft out of Miami. In his collegiate career, played in 46 games (6 starts) and registered 48 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, 2 INTs and 4 PDs. Began his collegiate career at Texas (2012-15) and was a graduate transfer to Miami in 2016. As a senior, played in 8 games (2 starts) for the Hurricanes, registering 22 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, 1 INT and 3 PDs. In 2015, played in 12 games for the Longhorns. As a sophomore, played in 13 games (4 starts) and registered 20 tackles, 1 INT and 1 PD. In 2013, played in 13 games and registered 6 tackles. Redshirted in 2012. A 23-year old native of Mineral Wells, TX, he attended Mineral Wells High School.

In 2016, started all 12 games and tallied 30 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 3.0 TFLs, 1 INT and 1 FR. As a junior, played in 13 games (3 starts) and notched 40 tackles, 4.0 sacks, 5.5 TFLs and 1 FF. Began his collegiate career at East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, MS. A two-year starter, helped guide East Mississippi to a 24-0 record and two NJCAA national championships. Was also the recipient of the team Hustle Award (offense). Started all 11 games in which he appeared and notched 22 recepts. for 314 yds. and 4 TDs. As a senior in 2016, appeared in 13 games (6 starts) and registered 41 tackles, 9.0 sacks and 12.0 TFLs while earning Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors. In 2015, started all 14 games at right tackle, anchoring the right side of an offensive line that finished the year ranked 19th nationally in sacks allowed, with just 16 sacks on 554 pass atts., the 7th-best percentage nationally and second among teams with 500-or-more atts.
