The San Francisco 49ers in partnership with USA Football are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the USA Football Western Regional Championship on July 14, 2016 at Twin Creeks Sports Complex in Sunnyvale, CA. All high school teams across California are invited to participate in this exclusive event.

The tournament provides high school teams the opportunity to develop and compete with local rivals, as well as teams they would not normally get to see.  High school players have the chance to line up against unfamiliar, and in some cases, highly anticipated faces. Featuring elite programs and high quality competition, it provides a platform for teams to showcase their skills, develop as a team, and size up against other California talent before the start of the high school season.

The Western Regional Championship is a part of the larger USA Football 7on7 Championship Series for 2016. In order to accommodate all CIF section rules, there is a helmeted and non-helmeted division offering to the tournament. Each team is guaranteed seven games. All games are officiated by certified high school officials. The games are played on beautiful, state of the art, 7on7 lined turf fields at Twin Creeks Sports Complex. There is no admission fee and parking is available on site throughout the day.

In an effort to further highlight the high school football programs across Northern California, we are pleased to bring this opportunity to the Bay Area and continue to promote the game at the high school level.  The 49ers host various events for high school athletes and have many programs dedicated to the high school level, but the 7on7 Tournament will be the first of its kind.

Teams that participate in the 7on7 Tournament are also invited to participate in the second annual High School Media Day on Wednesday, July 13, the day prior to the tournament.  In partnership with USA Football and MaxPreps, the 49ers host High School Media Day at Levi's Stadium. High school coaches and players are invited to 49ers Headquarters, along with media outlets from across Northern California. Media day is intended to emulate a series of true NFL press conferences, with players taking the very stage 49ers players do after each home game, fielding questions from local media.  It is also intended to serve as a one stop shop for media outlets, having direct access to a majority of teams in Northern California heading into the 2016 season.

USA Football's 7on7 program was built by high school coaches with the core principles centered around professionally organized and managed events featuring high quality competition with top high school programs from each region.  The 49ers are proud to partner with USA Football on this event, in addition to various other programming throughout the season
