The San Francisco 49ers announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. The team has acquired offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah and the Ravens 2017 sixth round draft choice (198th overall) in exchange for the 49ers 2017 sixth round draft choice (186th overall). Zuttah must pass a physical for the trade to be executed.

“Kyle and I are firm believers that competition brings out the best in everyone,” said 49ers General Manager John Lynch. “We also believe that you can never have enough good offensive linemen, and Jeremy has certainly proven to be a very talented player having earned a Pro Bowl selection last season.”

Zuttah (6-4, 300), a nine-year veteran, has appeared in 131 games (117 starts) in addition to two postseasons contests (two starts) throughout his career. In 2016, he started all 16 games for the Ravens along the team’s offensive line and earned his first career selection to the Pro Bowl.

Zuttah was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. With Tampa Bay (2008-13), he appeared in 90 games (76 starts) prior to being traded to the Ravens on March 23, 2014. Over the past three seasons in Baltimore (2014-16), he started each game in which he appeared (41).

A 30-year-old native of Edison, NJ, Zuttah appeared in 44 games (40 starts) in four seasons (2004-07) at Rutgers University. At Rutgers, he earned consecutive First-Team All-Big East honors (2006-07).
