How do you spend your time outside of Gold Rush?
Outside of Gold Rush I balance between work and making the most of life by exploring new parts of Los Angeles and carving out quality time on Facetime with family and friends since we all live in different states. It is so fun to take them along on my adventures because it makes it feel like we're doing it all together and not thousands of miles apart.
Where were you born, and where do you live now?
I was born in Miami, Florida, and have been Living in Los Angeles, California, for the past 9 years. I will forever follow the sunshine and sandy beaches.
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am so proud to be able to pave the way for my younger siblings and also for younger generations. I am the product of Haitian immigrants, a first-generation graduate, and the eldest of all my siblings. It can feel overwhelming trying to pave a way in unfamiliar territory, but it is so rewarding to know that with every step I take and every goal I achieve, I am making it a little easier for those who will come after me. Not only is this something that has made me proud, but it also inspires me and motivates me to continue to strive to be the best version of myself that I can be.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
Most people are surprised to learn that one of the languages I use to communicate is American Sign Language. I do not come from a deaf or hard-of-hearing family/community. I fell in love with the language as a child and minored in ASL in undergrad to work on my fluency.
What impact do cheerleaders have during a game and/or in the community?
The cheerleaders have such a huge impact in the community and on game days. For fans to be able to see themselves in Gold Rush both on and off the field reminds me of why I do this. Representation is so important; as cheerleaders, we represent so many different walks of life, and we are able to inspire others to chase their dreams, their education, and their dream job. During games, it is proven time and time again that 49ers Faithful are the best fans in the world. To see the excitement and joy on the fan's faces during the game reveals just how impactful cheerleaders are. Game days are sometimes a once-in-a-lifetime experience for some families. Not only are we able to share our love for football, but we also aid in making their experience a dream come true. It feels amazing to help make someone feel seen during game days and maybe even help ensure they are lifetime 49er fans.
Who is YOUR biggest cheerleader?
My biggest cheerleader was my grandma. She was always in my corner, rooting and cheering me on. She sacrificed so much for me, including the opportunity to be on Gold Rush and I am so grateful to have witnessed her love, support and grace in this lifetime.
How has being a part of Gold Rush affected your life?
Being a part of Gold Rush has completely shifted my mindset and perspective on work-life balance in the best way possible. I once thought that I had to live out my dreams before I could begin my career or focus on my family. However, Gold Rush and the 49ers Organization has shown me that I can truly have it all and that I do not need to sacrifice my dreams or passions for a livelihood. This has empowered me to work harder, show up more for myself and others and truly live life on purpose.
What do you like most about the 49ers organization?
The diversity represented throughout the 49ers Organization is what I love the most. The diversity in the org is not only shown through the players or Gold Rush but even through its staff. Before being granted the opportunity to be on Gold Rush I long admired how well they highlighted and celebrated each individual on their team. I wanted to be a part of an organization that understood how beautiful and unique our differences are because it is a true reflection of all the amazing individuals that make up our world.
