RESPECT FOR FAMILIES
Respect Rim
In 2006, the team began the sale of the Respect Rim baseball cap. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Respect Rim go to the 49ers Foundation in support of the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium and Partners Ending Domestic Abuse. which is dedicated to eliminating domestic violence and ensuring the basic rights of safety, self-determination and well-being to victims and survivors of domestic violence and their children. In its inaugural season, $36,000 was raised to support the cause. Click here to purchase your Respect Rim.
Founding Fathers
The Club partners with the Family Violence Prevention Fund to call for an end to violence against women and children. In the past, the 49ers have distributed Founding Father pledge cards to adult fans at a home game. By signing the Founding Fathers Declaration, men join in a public statement to call for an end to domestic violence. This season, the September 21 game will focus on RESPECT and fans will have an opportunity to make a financial contribution to Family Violence Prevention Fund’s Campaign for the Next Generation.
Community Tuesdays
During the 2008 season, the 49ers will show their RESPECT for families by volunteering in the community with organizations such as Career Closet, InnVision, Precita Valley Community Center, CityTeam Ministries, and by encouraging kids to learn about RESPECT.
Holiday Giving
During the holiday season, 49ers players and significant others, alumni and staff come together to deliver food and holiday trimmings to families in need throughout the Bay Area. Partnering with the San Francisco Food Bank, Turning Wheels for Kids, and CityTeam Ministries, the 49ers are able to make the holidays a little brighter.
