Biography

Goldmine

  • Bibbs grew up south of Chicago in Harvey, IL, an area filled with crime, gangs and poverty. He spent most of his childhood living in a three-bedroom house with aunts, uncles and 23 other kids. Not knowing when his next meal would come, he would wait outside on the front porch for the Salvation Army to deliver food for the day. “We slept like sardines,” Bibbs said. “You might get some feet in your face; you just throw the cover over it and use it as a pillow.”

  • Bibbs received two Division I scholarships out of high school, one to Illinois State and one to Colorado State. Looking to move away from home, he found himself at the junior college level, spending time at Snow College in Utah and Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, CO. Bibbs then transferred to Colorado State, where he broke single-season school records for rushing yards (1,741) and total touchdowns (31) during the 2013 season.
  • An aspiring hip-hop artist in his free time, Bibbs released his debut album, “They Want Me Bad” in December of 2016. In January of 2017, he performed in Denver, CO, with well-known artist Waka Flocka Flame.
