Goldmine

  • Brooks hosted his first youth football camp in June of 2014. His USA Football FUNdamentals clinic for area youth ages 6-17 in Woodbridge, VA, introduced football by teaching basic skills in a fun and energetic environment with other 49ers teammates joining Brooks in Virginia for the event.
  • Brooks is no stranger to the NFL. His father, Perry Brooks, played in 92 games at DT for the Washington Redskins from 1978-84. Perry ran a barber shop since Ahmad was a freshman in college, which was left to his family after he passed away.
  • Brooks’ wife, April, is an author, who recently released her first book titled “The Amazing Adventures of Anaiah & Her Angel: Anaiah Meets Gabby”.
  • Brooks was originally a 3rd-round selection in the 2006 supplemental draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2008, the 49ers claimed the linebacker off of waivers, where he worked his way into a full-time starting role by 2011.
  • In 2013, Brooks returned to Woodbridge, VA, where he attended high school at C.D. Hylton High School, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame.
