Biography

Goldmine

  • In June of 2016, Exum Jr. hosted his Inaugural “Bravehearts” Youth Football Camp at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, VA where he attended school and eventually earned a scholarship to Virginia Tech. At the camp, Exum was joined by former Virginia Tech teammate and current Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor, as well as other NFL friends. “We really wanted to give these kids a fun experience,” said Exum Jr., who spent the day taking the kids through drills, teaching them football skills and enhancing their knowledge on and off the field. “As far as life lessons, the name ‘Braveheart,’ I told them that it means you can do anything if you put your mind to it.”
  • As a member of the Minnesota Vikings in October 2014, Exum Jr. helped host the Fourth Annual ‘A Crucial Catch’ luncheon to honor breast cancer survivors in the Minneapolis area. Exum Jr. says he has a great deal of respect for women dealing with breast cancer since he learned toughness and tenacity from his mother, Barbara, a breast cancer survivor. Said Exum Jr., “She really reinforced the fact that just because adversity presents itself, it doesn’t have to win. Nobody is a better example of that than my mother.”
