A veteran of 20 NFL seasons, Bob Lange is in his 11th year with the 49ers and fifth as the team’s vice president of communications.
Lange is the 49ers day-to-day spokesman on all football, corporate and Levi’s Stadium matters, while acting as the team’s liaison with local, national and international media outlets. In addition to managing the publicity efforts for the team’s business operations, corporate partnerships, 49ers Foundation, community relations, 49ers Ventures and 49ers Studios, the 49ers communications department also actively promotes all aspects of Levi’s Stadium. With more than two decades of strategic communications experience, Lange also supports NFL-wide communications efforts by serving on the league’s Public Affairs Communications and Emerging Issues/Rapid Response committees.
Since Lange joined the team as director of communications in 2009, the 49ers have twice been named finalists for the coveted Pro Football Writers of America Pete Rozelle Award, in 2011 and 2012. The award is presented annually to the NFL club public relations staff that consistently strives for excellence in its dealings and relationships with the media.
