The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have claimed DL Zach Moore off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys. In order to make room on the roster, the team placed RB Pierre Garçon on the Injured Reserve List.

Moore (6-6, 290) was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the 6th round (198th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. As a rookie in 2014, Moore appeared in eight games (one start) where he registered three tackles, 0.5 sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Following his release from New England on September 5, 2015, he was signed to the Minnesota Vikings practice squad on September 8, 2015. He was elevated to Minnesota's active roster on December 19, 2015, and went on to appear in one game. In 2016, Moore spent training camp with the Vikings prior to his release from the team on September 3. He was signed to the Dallas Cowboys practice squad on September 6, elevated to the active roster on December 17, and appeared in one game with Dallas prior to being waived on December 26.

A 26-year-old native of Chicago, IL, Moore appeared in 39 games at Concordia University-St. Paul where he finished with a school career record 33.0 sacks. He earned First-Team All-NSIC honors three times in his collegiate career (2010, 2012- 13).

Hyde (6-0, 235) started in 13 games this season where he registered career highs in rushes (217), rushing yards (988), rushing average (4.6), rushing touchdowns (six), receptions (27), receiving yards (163) and receiving touchdowns (three). His three touchdown receptions on the season were the most by a 49ers running back since 2009 (RB Frank Gore – three touchdown receptions).
