49ers Select P Mitch Wishnowsky with 110th Pick in 2019 NFL Draft

With the 110th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky.

Wishnowsky (6-foot-2, 218 pounds) owns a career 45.7-yard punt average over three years at Utah. The Australia native won the Ray Guy award back in 2016 and is considered one of the top punters in this year's draft. There were 100 total return yards over his last 106 punts.

San Francisco acquired the 110th pick after trading back from No. 104 in a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. The 49ers also acquired two sixth rounders (Nos. 183 and 198) in the trade.

Wishnowsky is an impressive athlete as he ran a 4.63 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. He's the odds on favorite to replace Bradley Pinion in 2019 and beyond, but he'll have to beat out Justin Vogel in order to claim the job. Wishnowsky has kickoff experience as well, which would add to his value as Pinion's replacement. Pinion handled kickoff duties during his four-year tenure in San Francisco. Wishnowsky kicked off 68 times with 45 touchbacks for the Utes.
