49ers Promote TE Ross Dwelley, Waive DL Ryan Delaire

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have promoted TE Ross Dwelley to the active roster from the team's practice squad. In order to make room on the roster, the team has waived DL Ryan Delaire.

A 23-year-old native of El Dorado Hills, CA, Dwelley (6-5, 240) originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 30, 2018 from the University of San Diego. He appeared in 47 games (44 starts) and totaled 197 receptions for 2,305 yards and 26 touchdowns during his five years with the Toreros. As a senior in 2018, he earned First-Team All-Pioneer Football League honors after he saw action in all 12 games (10 starts) and registered 50 receptions for 663 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was released by San Francisco on September 1, 2018 and signed to the team's practice squad the following day.

Dwelley will wear number 82.

Delaire (6-4, 260) was promoted to the active roster on October 6, 2018 from the team's practice squad and appeared in last week's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
