How would you describe your style?
Very chic and edgy, but with a vintage twist.
I was both a traveling dance instructor and a head dance/cheer judge for the company JAMZ.
What is your favorite non-profit organization and why?
Shriners Hospitals for children. I grew up a patient of Shriners Hospitals for children after the discovery of a bone disorder in my left leg. Through generous donations Shiners is able to provide medical care to children, regardless of the family's ability to pay. In addition, they dedicate funds to patient care, research and education. After corrective leg surgery I was given the privilege to meet my potential and live out my dream of becoming a professional dancer. The organization sits very near and dear to my heart.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
Taking a gymnastics class for the very first time and not understanding the lingo. During class I had an instructor come up to me and ask if I knew what a banana looked like. Having never taken a gymnastics class before I looked up at her and shook my head no. It wasn't until about a minute or two in of her describing what a banana looked like, that I realized she wasn't explaining a gymnast's move. Rather she was explaining how incorrectly I was letting my back bend, like a banana, during our session of handstands. #embarrassing
Who or what inspires you?
Music inspires me to dance. My family inspires me to love and be kind to others. Gold Rush inspires me to live my dream. LA inspires me to be my creative self. Pictures inspire me to travel. My boyfriend inspires me to appreciate those around me.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I lost my vision in my left eye in the 7th grade and gained full recovery after about 6 months.
What does it mean to be a Gold Rush Cheerleader?
It means we create community patriotism, not only through athletic skills and teamwork, but through leadership in our communities. Being a Gold Rush Cheerleader, we have the enormous opportunity to work with organizations and take part in events that impact our lives as a Nation. Events such as The Global Climate Action Summit and Professional Business Women of California conference. As a group of beautiful and powerfully educated women we have chosen to be a face in our community and share our voices with the faithful.
What do you like most about being a member of the Gold Rush?
The opportunity to be myself. Gold Rush is not a team where we are conformed to follow suit to anything or anyone. We were all individually picked for our unique versions of ourselves and have always been encouraged to let that shine through. We would not be the great picture we are today if every piece of the picture was the same.
