What, in your life, are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the educational goals I set for myself and fulfilled. I've always wanted to do hair and makeup but wanted to go to college first. I had a few passions at the time and was trying to narrow down which I wanted to fulfill. Not only did I get my degree, but I also received my cosmetology license a year later. I love to learn, and I still take classes till this day to further my education.
What is your favorite non-profit organization and why?
Magic Dance Arts is a non-profit organization committed to using creative expression to enhance development in young children with special needs. I was fortunate enough to be able to volunteer and meet some of the most amazing children and families throughout the Bay Area. Through dance and other sensory movements, we are able to interact with these children and make a difference in their lives. We challenge and encourage them to do things they would not normally do. There is nothing like those smiles and laughter that come across the children's faces when you walk into the room!
Who or what inspires you?
I am constantly inspired by my mom every day. As I get older I realize more and more how hard it is to be a parent, while working full time and balancing everything else that comes with it. I still don't know to this day how she did it, but I hope one day I can be half as good of a mother as she is.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I love classic cars. My first car was a 1966 Ford Mustang. My dad and my brother fueled my passion for cars and I actually wanted to be a mechanic at one point in my life! I definitely want to own another restored classic car someday.
What does it mean to be a 49ers Faithful?
To be faithful means to be supportive and optimistic, though the ups and the downs. You always have hope in your heart and continue to support day in and day out no matter what the outcome. You keep the passion alive. Our fans truly do that!
What is something fans would be surprised to learn about the Gold Rush?
I feel the fans should know how complex and diverse we all are. I am constantly in awe of how much these women have accomplished thus far. These women are some of the most hard working and intelligent women I have ever met. We all come together for a common passion but have so many other things that define us.
