Player Roster

A reserve offensive lineman, Jacob Bender provided depth to the 49ers offensive line midway through the 2008 season after being signed from New England’s practice squad. A former sixth-round draft choice by the Jets in 2007, Bender is an athletic blocker who is quick off the snap.

GOLDMINE:
•An avid hunter, Jacob’s prize catches are a 400-pound Wild Boar and a Corsican Ram. He shot the boar with his bow and arrow on a ranch called The Pig Farm in Pennsylvania where boars are raised and then released to be hunted. At the ages of 12 and 13, Jacob finished 1st and 2nd in the state in consecutive years, respectively, in archery contests and likes to practice during his spare time.

•Was inactive for 4 contests and did not play in season finale after being signed off of the Patriots practice squad (11/18).

2007 (New York Jets)
•Saw action in 2 games on special teams and was inactive for 14 contests.
•Made NFL debut at Buf. (10/28) and played vs. Was. (11/4).


COLLEGE:

Played in 42 games (31 starts) in his 4 years at Nicholls State, earning All-America and all-conference honors as a senior.


PERSONAL:

•Attended DeMatha Catholic (MD) HS, where he was team captain and earned all-state, all-conference and all-state academic honors as a senior.
