BIOGRAPHY

A tough, hard-nosed runner with excellent field vision, Coffee was a solid addition to the 49ers running back corps in 2009, as well as a capable contributer on special teams. Coffee gained valuable experience as he stepped in for the injured RB Frank Gore early in the season at Min. (9/27) and went on to start the following 2 contests.

TRANSACTIONS:
Originally a 3rd round (74th pick overall) draft choice by SF in 2009.

2009:
•Made his first career start vs. StL (10/4) and rushed for a career-high 74 yds. He also set career highs in both recepts. (4) and rec. yds. (32).
•Scored his first career TD on a 2-yd. run vs. Atl. (10/11).
•His 11-yd. recept. from QB Shaun Hill in the 2nd qtr. vs. Sea. (9/20) marked his first career recept.
•Recorded a career-high 25 rushing atts. for 54 yds. at Min. (9/27).

COLLEGE:
•In 35 games (17 starts) for the Crimson Tide, gained 2,107 yds. and 14 TDs on 410 carries, and 42 catches for 351 yds. and 2 TDs receiving. In his final season at Alabama, the All-SEC selection and Doak Walker Award semi-finalist rushed for 1,383 yds. and 10 TDs. His rushing yds. tied RB Shaun Alexander as the 2nd-most in school history, while his 5.9 yds. per carry in 2008 ranked 6th all-time. In 2007, played in 9 games (3 starts) and rushed for 545 yds. with 4 TDs, and had 18 catches for 118 yds. and one score. Granted a medical redshirt in 2006 after recording 179 rushing yds. and 91 receiving yds. as a true freshman.

PERSONAL:
•Shared Alabama’s 2008 Derrick Thomas Community Service Award with Cory Reamer.
•Attended Fort Walton Beach (FL) HS, where he had 1,886 yds. rushing and 350 yds. receiving with 29 TDs as a senior, on his way to leading his prep squad to the District 2-4A title and an appearance in the regional champi­onship game.
