Biography

Goldmine

  • Harold was “Mr. Everything” for his high school team, playing quarterback, running back, wide receiver and defensive end at Ocean Lakes HS. Racking up 1,146 yards and 20 touchdowns in a wildcat offense, he was named first-team All-Tidewater, the Beach District Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-district selection at wide receiver and defensive end.
  • Late in 2010 and early 2011 was an incredibly trying time for the Harold family. In a three-month span, Eli’s brother Walter unexpectedly lost his son, Forrest, and Eli’s mother, Sheila Korvette, passed away from cancer. In the wake of the family’s tragedy, Harold moved in with Walter, the closest thing he had to a father figure. After becoming a highly-touted prospect and recording his first sack at the University of Virginia, Harold dedicated the milestone to his older brother.
  • In July of 2016, Harold teamed with Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor and other NFL players to host the Inaugural “VA’s Next Up” football camp. The camp was attended by more than 150 middle and high school athletes/students which focused on life skills, financial literacy, NCAA rules and regulations, entrepreneurship, teamwork and communication. Said Harold on the genesis of the event, “I reached out to Kam and thought it would be a great idea to get some of the guys from the 757 to start a camp to reach these kids,” he said. “We wanted to reach back out to the community and give back to the kids. We also wanted to let them know that they can do anything they want to do in life.”

  • One of many interests Harold has, his sneaker collection is the one that he is the most passionate about. A collector of more than 250 pairs of shoes, Harold’s collection ranges from Air Jordan’s to “Anything red and suede,” which particularly catch his eyes. His sneaker interest translates to his cleats on the field. “If you look good, you feel good, you play good. That’s what it’s all about,” said Harold.
