Colin Kaepernick has the perfect blend of athleticism, moxie, field vision, intelligence and arm strength for the NFL. The only player in the NCAA history to throw for over 10,000 yards and rush for over 4,000 yards, Kaepernick has an excellent work ethic that will help him make the transition from the pistol offense he ran in college to the 49ers West Coast Offense.

COLLEGE:
Played in 51 games (47 starts) for the Wolf Pack and completed 740 of 1,271 passes for 10,098 yds., 82 TDs and just 24 INTs. He also rushed for 4,112 yds. on 600 carries and 59 TDs. The only quarterback in NCAA history to rush for over 1,000 yds. in three consecutive seasons, he tied the NCAA record for most rushing TDs by a QB (QB Eric Crouch - 59 TDs). Threw for over 200 yds. in 19 games, over 300 yds. in six games and had one 400-yd. game. He also rushed for over 100 yds. in 16 games. Became just the sixth player in NCAA history to throw for over 2,000 yds. and rush for over 1,000 yds. in a season and the only player to accomplish the feat in three consecutive seasons. In 2010, was a second-team All-American selection by The NFL Draft Report, All-WAC first team honoree and was named the WAC co-Offensive Player of the Year. Was also a finalist for the Manning Award. Started all 14 games and completed 233 of 359 passes (64.9 pct.) for 3,022 yds., 21 TDs and 8 INTs, while adding 1,206 yds. rushing and 20 TDs on 173 carries. He ranked 11th in the nation and 2nd in the WAC in total offense (302.0 yds./gm.). His 20 rushing TDs also broke the school’s single-season record (Chris Lemon - 19 in 1997). As a junior, he was an honorable mention All-American by the NFL Draft Report, second-team All-WAC selection and the recipient of Nevada’s Golden Helmet Award, given to the Wolf Pack’s Most Valuable Player. Started all 13 games and completed 166 of 282 pass attempts for 20 TDs and 6 INTs, while carrying the ball 161 times for 1,183 yds. and 16 TDs. Part of a backfield that led the nation in rushing (344.9 yds./gm.), as he joined teammates Vai Taua (1,345 yds.) and Luke Lippincott (1,034 yds.) as the first trio from the same team to each rush for over 1,000 yds. in the same season in NCAA history. In 2008, earned All-WAC second-team honors and was named the WAC’s Offensive Player of the Year. Played in 13 games (12 starts) and completed 208 of 383 passes for 2,849 yds., 22 TDs, 7 INTs while rushing for 1,130 yds. and 22 TDs on 161 carries. Became the only QB in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yds. in a season. Finished his sophomore campaign with 102 points scored and was the only Division I QB to score over 100 points. Ranked 11th in the nation in total offense (306.1 yds./gm.) and 15th in INT pct. (1.83 pct.). The Wolf Pack ranked 5th in the nation in offense (508.5 yds./gm.) and 3rd in rushing yds./gm. (277.8). As a freshman, was named Freshman All-American honorable mention by The Sporting News and College Football News and was the second player in school history to be named WAC Freshman of the Year. Played in 11 games (8 starts) and completed 133 of 247 pass atts. for 2,175 yds, 19 TDs, 3 INTs and rushed for 593 yds. and 6 TDs on 105 carries. Redshirted in 2006.

PERSONAL:
• Attended Pitman (Turlock, CA) HS and was an all-state nominee in three sports (football, basketball and baseball) and earned the Central California Conference MVP honors in football. He was also All-Sac-Joaquin Section, all-conference, all-district and all-academic team selection in football.
• As a senior, completed 112 of 188 passes for 1,954 yds, 25 TDs and 6 INTs, while adding 2 TDs rushing on 44 carries.
• A highly regarded baseball prospect, he was a two-time allstate pitcher and could throw a 94 mph fastball. He also threw two no-hitters during his senior year.
• Selected by the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher in the 43rd round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
