BIOGRAPHY

Brit Miller was promoted from the practice squad on 12/1/09 and brought his gritty, hard-nosed work ethic to the 49ers special teams unit. A former standout linebacker at the collegiate level, Miller showed his athletic versatilty by making the transition to fullback in the NFL during the 2009 training camp.

2009 AWARDS & HONORS:
•Named Thomas Herrion Memorial Award winner, which is presented to a rookie or first-year player who best represents the dream of Thomas Herrion. The recipient has taken advantage of every opportunity, turned it into a positive situation and made their dream turn into a reality.

2009 GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
•Registered 2 special teams tackles in his NFL debut at Sea. (12/6).

COLLEGE:

•Played in 48 games over four seasons for Illinois, totaling 283 tkls, including 33 for a loss.
•A Ronnie Lott Award Semifinalist earning first-team All-Big Ten honors by the media and second-team by the coaches as a senior.
•Led the Big-Ten and was 5th in the NCAA with 11.0 tkls per game.

PERSONAL:
•Son of Randy and Teresa Miller. Was a member of the National Honor Society. Miller was also amed academic all-conference scholar-athlete all four years and earned academic all-state honors senior year at Eisenhower (IL) High School. His biggest thrill in sports was beginning his football career on a 1-8 team, then qualifying for the state playoffs in his senior year.
