1. 49ERS SIGN RB WINSTON, WAIVE RB HUNTER
The 49ers signed running back Glenn Winston to a three-year deal on Monday, August 4th.

To make room on the roster, the team waived/injured running back Kendall Hunter. An undrafted rookie free agent, Winston spent two seasons at Michigan State before finishing his collegiate career at Northwood University. In 2013, Winston played in eight games and rushed for 717 yards and nine touchdowns on 175 carries for the Timberwolves. READ MORE

3. OBSERVATIONS FROM 49ERS-RAVENS JOINT PRACTICES
This is the three-for-one special. All three days of 49ers-Ravens joint practices had notable moments worth highlighting.

Day 1 Two Super Bowl contenders enjoyed a productive Saturday training camp session. It was cordial and competitive.

The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens opened up "Harb Camp" with a near-three-hour practice at the Ravens training facility. FULL RECAP

Day 2: Kaepernick completed six touchdown passes, five them came inside the red zone. Former Ravens receiver Anquan Boldin hauled in three of Kaepernick's scoring plays. Kaepernick's only blemish on Sunday was being intercepted by Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith.

In addition, Vernon Davis got behind Baltimore's first-team defense to catch a 99-yard touchdown from veteran quarterback Josh Johnson. Davis caught the deep seam 45 yards downfield and ran the rest of the way untouched. FULL RECAP

Day 3: Although the physicality wasn't the same as Saturday and Sunday's work, the speed on the field remained impressive for both sides. After hearing from both Harbaugh coaches, it sounded like each side got a lot out of the practices.

"Better than expected," Jim Harbaugh said. "We got better. That's even more so than we thought."

Ravens coach John Harbaugh agreed.
