1. Brotherly Love

The 2014 preseason schedule has been announced and in the opening matchup, Jim Harbaugh and the San Francisco 49ers will travel to Baltimore to face John Harbaugh and the Ravens for the first time since Super Bowl  XLVII. The 49ers then return home to host the Denver Broncos in what will be the first NFL game ever played at Levi’s® Stadium. As far as preseasons go, this one looks to be very intriguing.

>> The 49ers will only play AFC teams in the preseason, and will face the future No. 1 draft pick in Week 4.

2. Cactus League Pro Bowl

Along with the preseason schedule, the league also announced the locations and dates of the next two Pro Bowls. Following the 2014 season, the Pro Bowl will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, a week before the stadium plays host to Super XLIX. This marks the third time a Pro Bowl will be played in the same city as the Super Bowl.

 >>The fourth time won’t come at Levi’s Stadium in 2016.

3. Second Year Rookies

Anticipation builds for the debut of second year running back Marcus Lattimore, who sat out his entire rookie season with a knee injury and was recently spotted working out with top NFL Draft prospect Sammy Watkins. Another second year player not to be overlooked is once prolific Florida State pass rusher Tank Carradine, who also missed his rookie campaign while recovering from a knee injury.  Sitting out doesn’t mean Carradine wasn’t improving his game. The young defensive lineman was learning from veterans Justin Smith and Ray McDonald.
Doug Williams of NBCBayArea.com writes the 49ers are banking on Tank in 2014.

>> Lattimore plans to hit the 2014 offseason running.

>> Carradine is eager to play saying his surgically repaired right knee now feels “the same” as his healthy left one.

4. Around the League

Here are the five most intriguing games on the 2014 NFL preseason schedule.

>> Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl center Alex Mack plans to sign Jaguars offer sheet.

>> Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne (ACL) expects to be cleared for football activities on April 25.
