1. Back to Work

The San Francisco 49ers begin a nine-week voluntary offseason program today. Judging by the crowd in the cafeteria this morning, there should be a big turnout for this year's workouts led by head strength and conditioning coach Mark Uyeyama. The first phase of the program is two weeks of strength and conditioning work. Players can also rehab. Coaches will not be allowed to take part in the first phase of the program. They'll take over phase two, which consists of three weeks of on-field workotus with player instruction and drills. The 49ers call this "Football School." No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills is permitted during the second phase of the program.

Second-year running back Marcus Lattimore maintains that he'll be ready for offseason work

2. Grass is Greener

Levi's Stadium® is almost ready. Almost.

The field is fully installed and there will be a media availability later today to showcase the bandera bermuda turf. Don't believe me? Check out the stadium's live camera to see for yourself.

>>We shared 15 key details on the playing surface last week. Consider it a cheat sheet so you can sound more impressive when talking about the stadium with your friends.

3. Around the League

>>Peter King of MMQB.com is hearing the Houston Texans prefer Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack over South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. It's not known how the Texans feel about quarterbacks with the No. 1 overall draft pick. The suspense continues.

>>
The St. Louis Rams are pleased with the rehab progress being made by starting quarterback Sam Bradford (torn ACL). Head coach Jeff Fisher believes Bradford told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that his quarterback is truly ahead of schedule.
